How to Review Wallet Permissions

Safety Notice

A connected site and a token approval are not the same permission. Disconnecting a site may stop parts of the session, but it does not automatically revoke an on-chain token allowance.

What To Review

1. Check the wallet's connected-sites or dapp-connections list.
2. Remove connections you no longer recognize or use.
3. Review token approvals separately by network and token.
4. Compare each spender or contract with the service you intended to use.
5. Follow the wallet's official revocation instructions for unwanted allowances.

Revocation may require an on-chain transaction and network fee. Read the complete prompt before confirming it.

Keep A Small Review Record

Record the network, token, spender or contract, approval limit, and date without recording a seed phrase, private key, password, or OTP. This makes an unfamiliar approval easier to investigate later. A label shown by a wallet or block explorer is useful context, but it is not by itself proof that a contract is safe.

Check each network separately. Removing a connection or allowance on one network does not remove a different permission elsewhere.

Stop Conditions

Stop if an approval checker asks for recovery words, redirects to an unrelated domain, or asks you to approve another unexplained contract. Do not trust a tool solely because it appears in a reply or advertisement.

MetaMask documentation explains its permission and revocation behavior. Other wallets and networks may present different controls. This guide does not inspect a reader's wallet or determine whether a contract is safe.
